Apple Brings Vision Pro Headset To More Countries: What About India?

Last Updated:

Vision Pro headset is available in many regions but Apple has kept it away from the Indian market. Here’s the reason.

Will the Indian market get the premium Vision headset?

Apple is adding more countries to its availability list for the premium Vision Pro headset. The brand is bringing the headset to Taiwan. Reports suggest the device will be available from December 17 in the region, with the pre-orders now on the roll. This marks a significant step in the global rollout of Apple’s innovative headset.

As per MacRumors, Apple has updated its Taiwanese website to include comprehensive product specifications, pricing, and personalisation options, such as different storage capacities and ZEISS optical inserts specially designed for vision correction. In addition to that, the company will also host 30-minute demonstration sessions at its two retail stores in Taipei. These measures will allow potential buyers to explore the Vision Pro’s capabilities first hand.

Vision Pro India Launch Update: When Is It Coming?

As more countries get added to the Vision Pro roster, the question most people are asking is, when will it launch in India? Apple says India is a crucial market for its growth but is that limited to certain products, quite likely. To be fair, the Vision Pro headset costs $3,499 which comes to around Rs 3 lakh and that is a lot of money for people to spend on a first-gen model.

So, does Apple see any need to launch the product here, when people can actually get it shipped from other regions? We are hoping to see that trend change in the near future.

It also helps that Apple seems to be planning for a more affordable version of its Vision Pro mixed reality headset. The current first-generation Vision Pro is powered by the visionOS operating system and boasts an OLED-on-silicon (OLED oS) display, with an impressive pixel density of 3,391 pixels per inch (PPI). The headset supports both virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) technologies. The company’s M2 processor and an R1 chip beneath the hood power it.

Apple launched the Vision Pro in the United States in February this year. Since then, the Vision Pro has been available in countries like Australia, Europe, Canada, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, China, Hong Kong, Japan and Singapore. Recently, South Korea and the United Arab Emirates were also added to the list.
