Expansion Aligns with Apple’s Growth Strategy In India

This retail expansion aligns with Apple’s strategy to tap into India’s growing consumer market. Apple CEO Tim Cook had previously indicated plans to open new retail stores in the country to meet increasing customer demand.

Deirdre O’Brien, Apple’s senior vice president of retail, underscored the significance of physical stores: “Our stores are incredible places to experience the magic of Apple, and it’s been wonderful to deepen our connection with our customers in India.”

Strengthening Manufacturing Capabilities In India

Beyond expanding its retail network, Apple is also ramping up its manufacturing efforts in India. The company is now producing the entire iPhone 16 lineup within the country, encompassing models from the entry-level iPhone 16e to the premium Pro and Pro Max versions. This initiative reflects Apple’s commitment to the “Make in India” program, which was first introduced in 2017.
