Apple Maps is not as popular as Google’s version in market like India but the company is bringing new features to change that now.

The new feature on Apple Maps works like street view

Apple Maps is getting more features with the addition of ‘Look Around.’ Like Google Street View, this feature gives users 360-degree panoramic views of their surroundings, improving the map experience and giving users a more engaging method to explore places. Currently being rolled out to the online client, the feature has been accessible on the iPhone app since iOS 13.

As part of a public beta, Apple first made its Maps service available online in July. Getting directions, perusing well-selected guides, and other functions were the only features available at the time.

A report by 9to5mac claims that ‘Look Around’ is presently accessible in a few cities in the United States, Canada, Australia, the United Kingdom, the European Union, and a few more countries. A complete list of approved sites may be found on Apple’s website, which is continually growing its reach. The report claims that the feature was introduced on December 11 and is being progressively expanded to include more areas.

Users can now access Look Around on the Apple Maps web app by tapping on the binoculars symbol, much like in the iOS app. With this update, the web version is now more comparable to its mobile counterpart and provides users across multiple platforms, including Windows PCs, with a more thorough mapping experience.

Furthermore, Google Street View is featured in Google Maps and Google Earth and offers interactive panoramas from various locations around the world. It was first introduced in many cities in the United States in 2007 and has since spread to encompass cities and rural areas around the world.

The Apple Maps web application, which is still in public beta, offers many features, including directions, point-of-interest and business search, map exploration, and guides. Nevertheless, the app does not yet have certain capabilities like 3D buildings, transit maps, or Apple ID sign-in for customised features. Additional features, platforms, and languages will be supported in the future, according to Apple, which was quoted in the report. It is anticipated that Apple will enable users to browse saved locations by logging in with their Apple ID.
