Apple Store goes DOWN ahead of the ‘It’s Glowtime’ event – raising hopes the tech giant will launch new products including the iPhone 16

Just six hours before its eagerly anticipated launch event for the iPhone 16, the Apple Store website has gone down.

While users can usually browse an array of devices when visiting the website, they’re now greeted with a message reading: ‘Be right back.

‘We’re making updates to the Apple Store. Check back soon.’

A stylish blue and pink version of the Apple logo is also displayed, just like the one on Apple’s official invite for today’s product unveiling.

The event, titled ‘It’s Glowtime’, will take place in Cupertino, California, at 10:00 PT (18:00 BST).

While Apple has made no mention of a new iPhone, the company has revealed a new device every year around autumn for over a decade now.

There’s expected to be four iPhone 16 models – the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max, in a range of different colours.

All models are expected to be slightly bigger than previous models, marking the first time Apple has upped the iPhone’s display size since the iPhone 12.

iPhone 16 is expected to have a new button located on the right hand side, which could be a game-changer for selfie fans.

The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus are expected to come in blue, green, white, black and pink.

Meanwhile, the Pro models will likely come in slightly more muted tones – white, black, grey, and bronze.

Apple's invite includes the classic Apple logo with a redesigned twist. An animation on its website sees the logo swirl between hues of blue, purple, orange, and pink, seemingly in reference to the 'It's Glowtime' tagline

Pre-orders for the iPhone 16 family will likely go live this Friday, September 13, while the first devices will then likely be sent out next week, on Friday September 20.

The company is also reportedly about to reveal a special 10th anniversary Apple Watch, marking a decade since the first one was unveiled.

Rumours also suggest that Apple may unveil two new models of AirPods as entry and mid-tier products.

MailOnline will be covering the launch event live on 9 September from 10:00 PT (18:00 BST).

Alternatively, you can watch it at apple.com, on the Apple livestream on YouTube, or on the Apple TV app.
