Apple could cull some of the popular iPhone models and AirPods later this month
Apple iPhone 16 launch is less than a week away and the company might have some bad news for existing users but a good time to buy the old models.
Apple’s big iPhone 16 launch is just a week away and the excitement is palpable as the company is gearing up for its big AI unveiling this month. However, Apple could pull the plug on the older iPhone models, six of them at least when the new iPhones are announced. In fact, the list of the models could include the current iPhone 15 Pro Max as well going by the latest reports this week. It might sound shocking to many that Apple could stop selling one of its premium models but that is not entirely different from how the company has operated over the years.
Apple iPhone Models Likely To Face The Cull
These iPhone models and other Apple devices could be discontinued after the big launch this month:
– iPhone 15 Pro
– iPhone 15 Pro Max
– iPhone 14 Plus
– iPhone 13
– AirPods 2
– iPhone 13 Mini
– AirPods Pro 1st gen
It is interesting to see that iPhone 15 and 15 Plus are not mentioned in the list, considering both these models will not be getting the Apple Intelligence features.
iPhone 15 Pro Max Discontinued: Should People Buy It Now?
Like we said, Apple has a habit of discontinuing products often and it does it almost every year. Having said that, you can easily buy the older iPhone models in the market, both offline or online stores, and get all the iOS update support and hardware support from the company.
Discontinuing a product effectively means Apple will stop making the models but its sales don’t end there. So, if you plan to get these AI-supporting iPhone models like the 15 Pro or 15 Pro Max, it might be a great time to consider them, especially if the deals on them make it tempting.
The products that lose Apple support are added to the obsolete or vintage list, which only happens 5 to 7 years after the device is launched and available for sale in the market. Your concerns about Apple discontinuing a product like the 15 Pro Max shouldn’t faze you from buying them today or even a few years down the line.
