Ariana Grande announces her next movie is based on a Dr Seuss book and includes a star from Frozen

Ariana Grande has already wrapped her work on Wicked: For Good, and is looking forward to making more magic on the big screen in which she can show her talents for music and acting. 

The Oscar nominee, 32, revealed she will be re-teaming with Wicked director John Chu for a movie based on the beloved Dr. Seuss book, Oh, The Places You’ll Go!

Grande shared the announcement from the Warner Bros. studio in her Instagram Stories on Tuesday. 

‘@ArianaGrande and @JoshGad – Oh, the Places You’ll Go! Directed by @JohnChu, with original songs by @PasekandPaul. Coming to IMAX in 2028,’ the note read.

Snaps teasing the the project, partially hiding their faces behind notebooks with their scripts inside while wearing headphone, indicating it may be an animated feature.

While the plot hasn’t been revealed, the Dr. Seuss classic follows a young adventurer dealing with the the ups and downs of life.

The beloved story offers inspiring, rhyming messages such as ‘You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose.’ 

Grande shared her enthusiasm for the project writing, ‘I love this book, I love this script, I love the beautiful world of @drseuss,’ over a photo of her and Gad.

‘I love this incredible group of creative human beings (@joshgad what a brilliant joy you are) I am so thrilled to be this one… it is vwey special!’ 

She concluded the note thanking Warner Bros. and director John Chu, closing with an infinity sign. 

Frozen star Gad, 44, also shared his excitement. 

‘Never been more excited to go places. We are dreaming up something very very special for you. Warner Brothers Animation has put together a truly all-star team,’ the Grammy winner wrote in his post.

‘I’ve been dying to work with Ariana, Jon,… and Pasek and Paul for ages. The wait was worth it. Still some time to go, but trust me… we’re off and away.’ 

Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, the duo behind the Tony winning Dear Evan Hansen and the Hugh Jackman blockbuster The Greatest Showman, have been signed to write  original songs for project.

Fans were nearly as ecstatic about the announcement as Grande and Gad.

‘Ariana Grande and Jon M. Chu are MY Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio ❤️’ wrote a delighted fan. ‘ARI AND DR SEUSS YES YES AND YES,’ exclaimed another.

Others were disappointed at having two wait more than two years to see the final product. ‘SO LONG FROM NOW, but SO EXCITED,’ wrote a follower. 

Fans will have to wait only until November to see Wicked: For Good, which was scheduled to debut on the big screen November 21.

'Very thrilled to be joining (meeting) the family,' she wrote

The Oscar nominee will be starring in the next chapter of the Meet the Parents franchise with Ben Stiller and Robert DeNiro. It’s due in theaters in November 2026

Grande has also signed to be a part of the fourth film in the popular Meet the Parents franchise.  

The plot is expected to follow the premise of the first film, only this time it is Grande who is the newly affianced member of the family. 

Her character, who will be engaged to one of Ben Stiller and Teri Polo’s sons, is a ‘ball-busting woman who seems all wrong for him,’ according to The Hollywood Reporter. 

The romantic comedy is expected to debut in theaters on Thanksgiving day in November 2026.
