A Missouri school teacher is accused of exchanging drugs and alcohol for sex with students, including one who she allegedly slept with on a gravel road.
Carissa Smith, 31, was arrested on Tuesday for rape, sodomy, patronizing prostitution, sex trafficking of a child, hindering prosecution and sexual contact and misconduct with a student.
The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department said she would have sex with them at her residence and other various locations such as gravel roads or on the side of the road.
Smith would offer money, marijuana and alcohol to students in return for sex or to allow her to perform oral sex, court documents state.
One victim said he had his first sexual interaction with Smith while he was a student at Dixon Middle School.
He said they met when she was substituting for another teacher and provide the boy with her Snapchat.
‘Smith began sending them pictures of her breasts and buttocks, along with her nude in the shower,’ court documents state.
After she proposition the student for sex and offered him money, she allegedly told him he had to keep it a secret.

‘[The victim] stated Mrs. Smith told them not to talk about it or else they would get into trouble. Mrs. Smith stated, “You know you can’t talk about this with anybody?”‘ court documents said.
One victim alleged that during a sexual encounter Smith forced him to ejaculate inside of her.
The boy said he told her ‘that was f*****d up,’ and she responded by offering him more money.
In another incident, the victim said he smoked marijuana with Smith and her friend Lacey Beam who was a former school nurse for the Dixon School District.
Eventually Smith dropped Beam off at her home and took the boy to McDonald’s because her husband was home with their children, according to court documents.
Smith worked as a long-term substitute teacher at Dixon Middle School for the 2022-2023 school year. Then she worked as a paraprofessional at the high school for the 2023-2024 school year.
She was hired as long-term substitute teacher at the high school on July 22, but resigned on August 30.
Smith was arrested on eight counts of statutory rape, one count of statutory sodomy, three counts of sexual contact with a student, two counts of sexual misconduct with a student, one count of patronizing prostitution, two counts of sexual trafficking of a child and two counts of hindering prosecution.

She is being held on $250,000 bond and her next court date is scheduled for November 20.
The Dixon R-1 School District released a statement to KY3 following the news of her arrest revealing they were not able to share information regarding the assaults due to the investigation.
‘Earlier this school year, the District received a report of possible misconduct by Ms. Smith towards at least one District student. This report was shared with the authorities responsible for investigating concerns of this nature,’ the district said.
‘This is very disturbing and distressing information for everyone in our school community… At all times, our school district’s first and most important mission is to provide the best education possible for our students in a safe and secure environment.’
Elsewhere in Missouri, a math teacher who admitted to having sex with a student at school while others acted as ‘lookouts’ was handed a favorable deal by prosecutors.
Hailey Clifton-Carmack, 26, previously pleaded guilty to sexual contact with a student in exchange for having the other charges including statutory rape, child molestation and child endangerment dropped.
The teacher was caught after police were informed of the relationship between Clifton-Carmack and the student after a classmate from Laquey High School came forward and showed photos of the teen’s scratches.
She was sentenced to four years in prison and ordered to complete a sex-offender treatment program.
However, the judge said he will receive updates on her progress in 90 days, and if she does well Clifton-Carmack could have her sentence suspended and be downgraded to probation.
