Australian influencer claims she was scammed at Paris nightclub after waking up with a 00 bank charge

Jacquie Alexander woke up with more than a hangover after a night out in Paris with a group of friends recently.

The Australian influencer had enjoyed an evening out at a Parisian nightclub only to find $5000 deducted from her bank account when she checked the following day.

‘I do get hangover scaries but this was different,’ she said in a TikTok video this week, explaining that she was ‘extremely anxious’.

‘My heart dropped. Smacked in the face with an amount from the club that I did not authorise.’

Jacquie says that the club’s owner had told her and her pals that they could order anything they liked and she claims the man said ‘it’s all on me’.

The social media star ordered up some expensive tequila, assuming it was on the house, but woke up to find the $5000 charge.

‘I am well aware that this is seriously stupid. Coming from Australia we just trust people and would never think someone would do something like that’ she said.

‘When you’re travelling please be careful, please make sure your friends know where you are at all times, please make sure you’re with a good group of people that have your back like I was.

Jacquie also explained that the drama had started when the club forced one of her friends to purchase a $400 pair of trousers from a boutique inside the venue as she was ‘not in the dress code’ – and it all went downhill from there.

‘It makes me so sick to my core that there are people who would do something like this’ she said.

There was better news for  Jacquie earlier this month when she announced her engagement to hockey player Nathan Ephraums.

The Perth-based beauty, 31, took to Instagram to share the happy news after watching her fiancé, 25, compete at the recent Paris Olympics with Australia’s hockey team, the Kookaburras.

Jacqui, who was holidaying with Nathan in Italy after the conclusion of the games, shared a series of loved-up images with her beau to mark the milestone.

One picture showed the fashion guru embracing her husband-to-bed on a gravel path, with her enormous engagement ring prominently featured.

Another photo showed the happy couple smiling and showing off the ring once more.

Another close up of the pair holding hands flaunted the gold band and large diamond on the ring.

Several other close-ups revealed more angles of the exquisite piece of jewellery.

In the caption to her post, Jacquie offered a simple statement: ‘Said yes under the Tuscan sun.’

Alexander runs her own fashion brand called In My Moods, which she co-owns with Ephraums.

The pair have been dating for years and have previously made headlines over their unique social media posts.

Her engagement announcement comes months after she was slammed for being ’embarrassing’ and ‘giving all Aussies a bad name’ on the London Underground in September.
