Barcelona finally reached an agreement to sign Rashford from Manchester United on loan, after the forward fell out of favour with current Red Devils boss Ruben Amorim.
Following a loan spell that saw him go to Aston Villa, Rashford finally has his goal come true, as the Englishman will now don the colours of Flick’s Catalan side.
Barcelona view Rashford as a versatile forward capable of playing both wide and centrally, addressing a significant need on the left wing.
What Happened To Marcus Rashford At Manchester United?
Rashford openly fell out of favour at Manchester United last season.
Since December last year, Amorim had included Rashford in just one matchday squad before pushing him on loan to Aston Villa, where he scored four goals in 17 games before a hamstring injury prematurely ended his season.
Rashford was not included in Manchester United’s squad for the first pre-season fixture of summer 2025, sparking rumours of a move away.
The seemingly final nail in the coffin came right along, with new signing Matheus Cunha taking over the number 10 jersey, almost assuring a move away for Rashford.
Rashford had previously been linked with AC Milan and Tottenham Hotspur, and even rivals Liverpool.
The United academy graduate has made 426 appearances for the club and scored 138 goals since his debut in 2015.
