A Bahurst 1000 driver has reportedly ‘lost everything’ after a huge fire engulfed his Gold Coast home while he was racing at Bathurst 1000 on Saturday afternoon.
Brad Jones Racing driver Declan Fraser had partnered with Andre Heimgartner for Sunday’s big race at Mount Panorama and had learned of the devastating fire while at the event.
Several fire trucks were called to the home on Hope Island, with Seven News revealing on Sunday afternoon that the home belonged to Fraser, 24.
Fox Sports commentator Neil Crompton had revealed the extent of the fire during a live broadcast on Sunday.
‘When (Heimgartner) was out there doing his Top-10 Shootout, (Fraser’s) house burnt down,’ Crompton said to Fox Motorsport on Sunday.
