The family of missing teenager Cale Bramwell is ‘heartbroken’ at the news his body has been found more than two weeks after he went missing.
The 17-year-old boy from Beecroft in north-west Sydney was reported missing on December 16, when he failed to return home and could not be contacted.
NSW Police searched for the boy in North Rocks and surrounding areas, a spokesperson said.
The body found on Saturday is believed to be that of the missing teen. Police are not treating the death as suspicious.
Cale’s relatives took to social media on Wednesday to pay tribute to him revealing the moment they learned the sad news his body had been found.
‘I want to express my deepest gratitude to everyone who shared Missing Cale Bramwell over the past few days, we didn’t receive the news we had hoped for this morning,’ said an aunt.
‘We are heartbroken. Rest in peace my beautiful nephew.’
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
