RBI Executive Director Vivek Deep has launched the Bharat Interface for Money (BHIM) 3.0, introducing new features including more languages, expenses split feature, and low internet requirement. The BHIM-UPI 3.0 represents its third evolution since its launch in 2016 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Executive Director Vivek Deep launched NPCI BHIM Services Limited’s BHIM 3.0 in the presence of Ajay Kumar Choudhary, non-executive chairman and independent director, NPCI and senior leaders from the banking and fintech industry,” the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) said in a statement on Wednesday.
NPCI BHIM Services (NBSL) is a subsidiary of the NPCI.

The BHIM 3.0 offers:
More Languages: It is now available in more than 15 Indian languages for better accessibility.
Works in Low Internet Areas: The BHIM 3.0 is a lite app. It has been optimised to ensure seamless transactions even with slow or unstable network connections.
Better Money Management: Users can split their restaurants or trip expenses among persons using advanced tools to track, manage, and split expenses with ease.
BHIM 3.0 has a widget feature allows direct Home Screen access to all features.
BHIM 3.0 allows to approve IPOs and set mandates on the BHIM App.
Users can set light mode or dark mode as per their choice.
It also has a task assistant that reminds users of pending bills linked to the Bhim app.
Clear and simpler UI/ UX for ease of use.
BHIM 3.0: Better Experience For Merchants
BHIM Vega: Merchants can now accept in-app payments, reducing friction in online transactions.
Customers can pay directly within the app without switching to third-party platforms.
Ajay Kumar Choudhary, non-executive chairman of NPCI, said, “BHIM has always played a key role in making digital payments secure and simple for every Indian. The launch of BHIM 3.0 is another step towards empowering millions of users, merchants, and banks, helping India move further into a digitally inclusive future.”
