Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Sunday once again made the headlines after the state’s main opposition party, RJD, flayed him for allegedly placing his arm around the shoulders of a woman at a public function where Union Home Minister Amit Shah was also present.
The incident took place at Patna’s Bapu Sabhagar auditorium, where both the leaders launched central and state projects worth over Rs 800 crore. Shah also distributed “dummy cheques” to beneficiaries of schemes under the Union Ministry for Cooperation.
As per the video shared by the RJD, a middle-aged woman, a recipient of one of the cheques, apparently appeared confused when Shah requested her to pose for a photograph. At this point, the 74-year-old chief minister reportedly tugged at her arm and placed his arm around her shoulders, positioning her for the photo.
“Just see how Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is pulling towards himself a woman in an objectionable manner with Home Minister Amit Shah looking on. Bihar is being shamed by the chief minister, who is unwell, and the BJP which is helpless”, RJD said in a post on X along with the video.

RJD further claimed that the state’s longest-serving CM has grown physically and mentally unsound.
Mimicking the style of the JD(U) supremo, whom the opposition party accuses of believing “the world came to exist after he became the chief minister”, the RJD added, “Had any chief minister acted like this before 2005? It happened only after I came to power”.
Earlier, Kumar made the headlines after he was seen laughing and talking during the national anthem at a sports event in Patna. RJD president Lalu Prasad and his son Tejashwi Yadav accused the chief minister of disrespecting the national anthem.
