Bill Maher takes swipe at Democrat’s vulgar tirade about Trump

‘Real Time’ host Bill Maher has slammed Democrats over their reaction to President Donald Trump’s address to Congress – as he took a swipe at Rep. Jasmine Crockett’s vulgar tirade.

The TV host took aim at Rep. Crockett for sounding like a ‘podcaster’ as he claimed Democrats are ‘lost,’ during a panel discussion with The View co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin and former Democratic senator Jon Tester from Montana.

‘Democrats seem so lost,’ Maher said on Friday’s Real Time, arguing that Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) is a prime example of that – noting that her recent language has lacked basic decorum.

During the panel exchange, Maher quoted Crockett saying: ‘This is a terrible nightmare, somebody slap me and wake me the f*** up because I’m ready to get on with it.’

‘”On with what” would be my first question,’ Maher fired back. ‘And also this is like how a podcaster talks. ‘F*** it, man!’

‘Can you imagine, I don’t know, Obama saying, ‘oh man, dude, this s*** is wack, slap me, I’m f***ing over it.’ No! I mean, come on man.’

Maher also took aim at Rep. Al Green (D-TX), who was removed from the chamber after having a tantrum and continuously heckling the President in congress.

He mockingly called him the ‘cane dude,’ since he was waving his cane at Trump while interrupting him.

He also called out the group of democratic women in Congress who wore pink as the ‘p***** hat uniform’ and said those holding protest signs looked like they were at an ‘auction.’

Griffin agreed with Maher’s statement, and added that Democrats should be more ‘strategic.’

‘Also they’re elected members of Congress that, yes, while in the minority, it doesn’t mean you have no power,’ she said.

She suggested they ‘get creative with the house rules’ and even expressed support for the government shutdown idea.

‘This sort of idea of all you can do is a poorly orchestrated press conference or hold up a sign, it’s not really true,’ she said.

‘Like, get creative with the house rules. See what you can do.

‘I actually honestly don’t hate the government shutdown idea.’

‘I think Democrats need to show that they’re willing to play hardball. No one wins in a government shutdown,’ she continued.

‘Let’s be clear, it’s not good for the public, but they need some kind of an actual action beyond just whining outside of the federal building.’

Tester added that Democrats missed an opportunity to highlight real people affected by Trump’s policies instead of resorting to theatrical protests.

‘Where the Democrats missed it is that they could have stood up and brought people in who have been affected by these policies in an incredibly negative way, and there’s plenty of them.

‘And talk to those folks and distribute it out so that they’re talking to their neighbors.’
