The formation of the new BJP government in Delhi is unlikely before February 15 – until Prime Minister Narendra Modi returns from his official visit to the United States, top sources within the party said on Sunday.

PM Modi will be on the US visit on February 12 and 13, becoming one of the world leaders to visit Washington DC in the first month of Donald Trump’s second presidency.

The BJP scripted a historic return to power in Delhi after 27 years, winning 48 seats in the 70-seated Assembly, while cutting short the ruling Aam Aadmi Party from 62 seats in 2020 to 22 seats in 2025 polls.
