Asked what he thought about the Congress abusing Narendra Modi during the ongoing AICC meeting, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said the opposition has enough experience of how the PM emerges stronger when he is abused

Union home minister Amit Shah on Wednesday said whenever the opposition has abused Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he has only emerged stronger.
Asked what he thought about the Congress abusing Modi during the ongoing AICC meeting, Shah said the party should be aware that the BJP’s election symbol is the lotus.
“Our party symbol is kamal (lotus)…it blooms in ‘kichad’ (mud)…so we will come out strongly if they keep abusing us,” he said on Day 2 of the Rising Bharat Summit 2025.
He said the grand old party has years of experience when it comes to knowing what happens when they abuse the Prime Minister. “Every time Modi Ji has been abused by the Congress, he has emerged stronger. From 2001 to 2025, the number of times they have abused Modi ji, he has only come out stronger. ‘Hum gaaliyon ke kichad mein bhi khilke wapas aate hain’ (We bloom and rise above the mud of abuse),” he added.
Echoing Modi, who used strong words in his attack against the opposition over the Waqf law on the first day of the summit, the union home minister was also vocal about his criticism on the same issue.
He agreed with the PM that the Congress had grabbed power through the politics of appeasement during the Partition in 1947, even though Muslims did not side with the two-nation theory.
Shah further said the Congress was protesting against the new law even though it was for the benefit of the minority – women and poor Muslims – within the minority community.
