Donald Trump’s biggest support in New York City comes from the boroughs of Staten Island and Queens.
A Saturday poll from New York Times/Siena College doesn’t necessarily yield good results for the former president ahead of his rally in Madison Square Garden, but does reveal Vice President Kamala Harris is falling behind how Joe Biden performed in 2020.
Overall, Harris is ahead of Trump 66 percent to 27 percent among likely voters in New York City.
But that’s 11 points behind President Biden, who earned 76 percent of the vote in NYC compared to Trump’s 23 percent in the last presidential election.
Vice President Kamala Harris is 11 points behind where President Joe Biden landed in the 2020 presidential election in New York City, according to a new poll
When the results are broken down by borough, Trump pulled ahead in one of the five: Staten Island. Forty-nine percent of registered voters in the right-leaning borough support Trump compared to 39 percent for Harris.
Meanwhile, Harris’ biggest support among likely voters is in Manhattan where 77 percent of voters say they intend to cast their ballot for the Democratic hopeful.
Among likely voters in the Big Apple, 7 percent said they are undecided.
The results were published Saturday – the day before Trump descended on the city for a massive rally in Manhattan’s renowned Madison Square Garden.
While New York is a solidly blue state, the city is still Trump’s original hometown and where the billionaire started his business empire several decades ago.
‘New York is the media capital of the world,’ Trump campaign senior adviser Tim Murtaugh told DailyMail.com when describing the former president’s selection of the venue.
He added: ‘There’s gonna be more television cameras at this rally, probably than any rally to date, and it will be beamed directly into all of the battleground states .’
Murtaugh explained that the MSG rally will be like Trump’s political homecoming in the Empire State where his family is from and his businessman persona was born.
Donald Trump has nearly no chance of winning in New York, but he is holding a rally at Manhattan’s Madison Square Garden on Sunday – just nine days before the 2024 election
A stacked lineup of guests and speakers are expected to grace the stage or appear around the MSG arena on Sunday.
This includes members of Republican congressional leadership like Scalise, House Speaker Mike Johnson and GOP Conference Chairwoman Elise Stefanik.
Billionaire Tesla, X and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, UFC CEO Dana White, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., conservative media personality Tucker Carlson, former NYC Mayor Rudy Guiliani and singer-songwriter Lee Greenwood will appear on stage.
So will Trump’s two eldest sons Don Jr. and Eric.
