Boy, 10, fighting for life after being struck down by a car on his way to school in Western Sydney

A boy has been rushed to hospital after being knocked down by a car in Western Sydney.

Emergency services responded to the scene on North Liverpool Road, Mount Pritchard, at 8.40am.

The young boy sustained severe injuries to his limbs, chest, pelvis, and head. He was rushed to Westmead Hospital in critical condition for further treatment.

A witness reported that the female driver screamed in horror after allegedly hitting the boy.

‘I saw this lady, she hit the child on the road, he was going to school,’ another witness told media.

A woman was escorted into a police vehicle following the incident.
