BSE, NSE May Keep Markets Open On Saturday, February 1 For Budget 2025: Report

Budget 2025: Stock exchanges BSE (Bombay Stock Exchange) and NSE (National Stock Exchange) are reportedly set to discuss the possibility of keeping the markets open on Saturday, February 1, 2025, for the Union Budget announcement.

According to a report by CNBC-TV18, sources familiar with the matter revealed that the exchanges are exploring this option to ensure smooth share market operations.

Union Budget 2025 Stock Market Impact

Sources told the channel that exchanges aim to provide investors with the opportunity to trade on an important day like the Budget announcement.

Markets were kept open on Saturday, February 1, 2020, for the Budget announcements, as well as on Saturday, February 28, 2015.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is expected to present India’s Union Budget for the fiscal year 2025–26 on February 1, 2025. The Union Budget outlines the government’s planned expenditures and revenues for the upcoming fiscal year, which runs from April 1 to March 31.
