After starting the season 3-0, fans of the University of California Berkeley football team have taken to posting endless memes about spreading the ‘woke agenda’ and claiming opponents stadiums’ as ‘property of Antifa’.
The rise of the ‘Cal-gorithim’ has taken social media by storm in recent days with Cal fans’ endless hilarious memes serving as a perfect backdrop before they take on Florida State in their first matchup as ACC members.
Cal fans have promised to turn FSU’s Doak Campbell Stadium into ‘Woke Campbell Stadium’ – leaning into the school’s typically liberal political leanings as they mock the struggling Seminoles, who hail from a red state.
Cal Twitter’s rise to prominence this season began when they upset SEC powerhouse Auburn on the road – with one prominent meme featuring several Cal football players, a rainbow, an electoral map showing a Democrat landslide victory, and the faces of Kamala Harris and Joe Biden with the caption ‘You just lost to the woke agenda’.
Another meme proclaimed Auburn’s Jordan-Hare Stadium as ‘Property of Antifa’ with the the caption, ‘You can’t win football games anymore, because of the woke’.

That specific meme was responded to with two separate tweets, one saying ‘Auburn students must line up to get their new pronouns first thing on Monday.’
Another response read, ‘War Eagle? Sorry. It’s now the Peace, Diversiry[sic], Equity, and Inclusion Eagle,’ referring to Auburn’s ‘War Eagle’ chant and slogan.
Since then, multiple meme accounts have turned Cal Twitter into a cottage industry pumping out memes dedicated to the woke storm coming for the Golden Bears’ opponents.
Specifically (after a win over in-state rivals UC Davis), all attention has been aimed at Florida State – located in the state capital of Tallahassee.
The state of Florida has voted with the Republicans in the past two presidential elections.
A slew of memes – both photoshopped and AI generated – have been created to generate hype for Cal football ahead of Saturday’s matchup.
One showed a photoshop of the Seminoles logo and the face of Cal’s bear mascot, Oski, placed on the poster for the movie ‘Brokeback Mountain’ – except this one was titled ‘Wokeback Mountain’.

Another showed Oski next to Florida governor Ron DeSantis with the caption, ‘Pleased to announce that this coming weekend, Florida will be making a commitment as a state to investing in DEI initiatives.
Oski’s face was again photoshopped onto FSU’s live mascot Chief Osceola with the caption, ‘Chief Oskiola coming to Tallahassee to spread the good word of Karl Marx and Derrick Bell.’
Another AI generated image of FSU’s stadium announced fake plans for a ‘stripe out’ in the stands that would turn Doak Campbell Stadium into a giant pride flag.
Doak Campbell Stadium was targeted yet again, this time with a drawing of the field turned into ‘Woke Campbell Stadium’ covered in pride flags, gender neutral restroom signs, and a Harriz/Walz lawn sign.
Another meme showed Oski’s face photoshopped over an old image of Josef Stalin with the caption, ‘Komrade Oski bringing pronouns for everyone at Doak….’

While Cal is riding high on social media and with its football program, the same can’t be said for Florida State.
The Seminoles started the season ranked No. 10 in the nation, but quickly fell off with losses to Georgia Tech in Ireland, followed by a home loss to Boston College.
Florida State followed that up with a 20-12 loss to Memphis that saw the Seminoles fall to a shocking 0-3 on the season.
They’ll hope to open ACC play with a win – which might bring an end to Cal’s memery, for now.
