However, a person’s health factor strongly depends on his age. Therefore, it is important for us to take care of our health, both physically and mentally, at every stage of life. Recently, a cardiologist, Dmitry Yaranov, took to Instagram and shared his take on how to keep your body and mind in good condition during each decade of your adult life, from your early 20s to your 70s.

Those in their 20s, as per the Cardiologist, must work on building the foundation of a healthy and fit body.
- Must do annual health checkups, Make a relationship with the doctor.
- Take a closer look at their blood pressure and cholesterol levels. Start screening early, especially if you have risk factors.
- STI and HPV testing: Protect yourself with safe practices and vaccinations.
- Incorporate healthy habits such as regular exercise, a good diet and limiting alcohol and smoking.
At the 30s: Maintain and Monitor
- Check your BP and cholesterol levels after every 4 to 6 years.
- Diabetes screening: especially if you’re obese or have a family history.
- Take care of your heart health by managing your weight, controlling stress levels and getting proper sleep.
- Mental health is important. Work-life balance is key to long-term well-being.
At 40s: Watch for early signs
- Get yourself checked for pre-diabetes and diabetes.
- Breast Cancer Screening: Mammograms may start at 40 (ask your doctor).
- Prostate Screening: Discuss PSA testing with your doctor.
- In your 40s, if you have high BP or cholesterol levels, you might be at high risk of heart disease. Take action now.
At the 50s: Time for serious preventive care
- At your 45 only, start colon cancer screening for early detection.
- Bone Density Check: Osteoporosis risk increases, especially for women.
- Take all the vaccinations: Shingles and updated flu shots.
- Women must discuss all the hormonal changes with their doctor.
At the 60s: Take care of your heart and mobility
- In the 60s, people must take care of their hearts and go for regular heart checkups.
- Lung Cancer Screening: If you’ve smoked, ask about a low-dose CT scan.
- Work on your physical strength and flexibility.
- Ear and Eyes checkup; early detection can prevent bigger issues.
At 70s and beyond: Quality over quantity
