Celebrity Big Brother star Angellica Bell’s husband Michael Underwood has hinted she will speak about her axe from The Martin Lewis Money Show, after she entered the famous house on Monday.
The presenter, 49, has joined big names including Mickey Rourke, Jojo Siwa and Jack P Shepherd in the star-studded lineup.
Michael, who met Angellica in early 2000s when they both worked in children’s TV, took to Instagram to share a video reacting to his wife’s debut on the launch show.
In the clip, he said he is aware his wife is the ‘underdog’ of the series given the big names signed by ITV bosses.
The couple married in 2010, and they have two children together, and in recent years Michael has shared he’s now a primary school teacher after the ‘phone stopped ringing’ for TV offers.
Michael also hinted that viewers may see Angellica address her reported sacking from Martin Lewis’ Money Show, which sources claimed was due to a conflict of interest thanks to her work on a rival Channel 5 show.

Angellica moved into the Celebrity Big Brother house on Monday night, joining big names including Mickey Rourke, Jojo Siwa and Chesney Hawkes
Speaking to his followers, Michael noted that he and Angellica only knew of this year’s lineup through reports circulating online, saying: ‘I think it’s a good list of names, I do think that is.
‘Now obviously it would be foolish not to say she’s the underdog in this team, but I hope she goes in there and shows you what I see every day and have seen every day since we met 25 years ago, and what I’ve seen every day since we’ve been married.
‘Just that kind, funny, straight-talking person and I hope you get to see that, because I think in all the other stuff she’s done on TV, that’s not always come through, because of the type of show that she’s working on.
‘But this is her chance to be herself, and I think that would work really well for her.’
Michael then confessed that Angellica’s absence from the family home would be mean a new challenge for him, caring for their two children alone.
He continued: ‘The big story isn’t Angellica going into the CBB house, it’s me staying in my house having to look after our children, and keep them alive until she’s back out.
‘I’m sure it will be fine, feed them three times a week,’ before hastily correcting himself: ‘Three times a day!’
Michael went onto note that it seems unlikely that any of Angellica’s housemates will nominate her early in the series, but an unlikely twist could put her in the firing line.

In the comments under Michael’s post, which he also shared on TikTok, he hinted that Angellica could address her axe from The Martin Lewis Money Show

Angellica had been a presenter on Martin’s show since 2017, but was dropped from the show in 2023 over a reported ‘conflict of interest’ with another Channel 5 show
‘I don’t think people are going to be nominating her this early on because she’s friendly and I can’t see how she’ll upset anybody, but you know how this show works, Big Brother will have different games and twists, where she might end up being in the group of people that are nominated, and then of course she’ll just be relying on the voters at home,’ he said.
‘If you’re up against Jojo, or a soap star you’re probably in big trouble aren’t you? But I think that’s the game right?’
In the comments of Michael’s post, one fan then asked: ‘Why did she stop working with Martin Lewis? I thought they were great together.’
Michael then replied: ‘It’s not for me to say but she might talk about it on Celebrity Big Brother.’
In 2023, it was reported that Angellica was unceremoniously let go from The Martin Lewis Money Show just days before filming began.
The Sun reported that producers claimed the axing was due to Angellica appearing on rival Channel 5’s The Gadget Show, which has been rebranded to Shop Smart, Save Money, saying it was a conflict of interest.
However, insiders told the publication: ‘Everyone is stunned by the move – no one saw it coming. Angellica has been an integral part of the show since 2017 so for her to be bumped off air with no warning is crazy.
‘Staff have naturally been talking and find the whole thing really awkward and unfair, but Martin is trying to keep out of it as it wasn’t up to him.
‘Bosses say due to The Gadget Show’s rebranding as Shop Smart, Save Money it’s a clash of interest but in reality the decision had nothing to do with Angellica. Many staff feel at the very least bosses could have given her warning or an option as to which show she wanted to continue with.’
Michael revealed back in 2021 that he became a primary school teacher after his ‘phone stopped ringing’ for jobs in TV.
The star was once the primetime face of children’s TV, hosting CBBC and CITV, but said he had to change his career to teaching after work dried up.
He said: ‘The phone stopped ringing, it’s just not a nice place to be in.’
His work included starring alongside Holly Willoughby and Stephen Mulhern on Ministry Of Mayhem among other shows, yet his career took a wholly different path to the megastars as he turned to teaching.
Describing the move, Michael told The Mirror: ‘I needed to make a decision, I thought you know what I’ve got my teaching degree, I’ve got 20 years in broadcasting behind me, maybe I can take that skill set and put it to good use.

‘Help build children’s confidence, help them with their oracy, their presenting skills, that’s when I thought: “Yeah, let’s grab the bull by the horns and maybe take a step out into a different career”.’
Following his stint on children’s TV, Michael was an entertainment correspondent on GMTV from 2003 to 2008.
He then competed in the 2008 series of Dancing on Ice, partnered by professional skater Melanie Lambert.
However, he pulled out of the series following a broken ankle in the run-up to the third show. They took part in the show the following year for the fourth series.
In early 2014, he presented the ITV entertainment series Let Me Entertain You on Saturday nights.
He was also a reporter on the ITV series Surprise Surprise until 2015 and Real Stories with Ranvir Singh until 2016.
