ChatGPT 5 release is widely expected in August 2025 and OpenAI CEO has shared some details about what to expect from the new version.
ChatGPT 5 release is expected in August and Altman has this warning
OpenAI is bringing the much-awaited ChatGPT 5 version in August and it seems the company is already scared of the new AI model. Sam Altman, the man leading the AI charge with ChatGPT has been quoted saying some worrying things about the upcoming AI chatbot version, which he says, “feels very fast,” than the previous iterations.
Altman was speaking in a podcast recently, where he decided to tease the world with these concerning details and not sharing the actual technical bits about the ChatGPT 5 model and what features people can expect to roll out.
ChatGPT 5 Is Almost Here, Should You Be Worried?
Altman’s confession about GPT 5 being faster will have people excited, mostly because of the expected evolution of the AI model. But the aspect of AI control and the pace at which it is evolving has got people and Altman worried about its oversight.
“There are moments in the history of science, where you have a group of scientists look at their creation and just say, you know: ‘What have we done?,” he was quoted saying in the podcast.
Altman has found a way to entice people into trying out his products. The Studio Ghibli style images became a rage for weeks, and got more people to sign up for the ChatGPT Plus versions. The new podcast could be a nice way to talk about the GPT 5 version and put some fear into the minds of people, who might in some way be encouraged to try it out. OpenAI faces a tough fight with Google and Microsoft moving their own AI suite across segments.
The AI mode on Search is a big push for the company, where it also has names like Perplexity in the mix, which has tied up with Airtel to offer its Pro version to users in India. Apple’s AI journey has been laggard and the ChatGPT 5 release could show us how far the Cupertino-based giant has been left behind in the hectic but fast race.
