China announced an 84% tariff on all goods imported from the US in response to US President Donald Trump’s 104% tariffs on Chinese goods. “Additional tariff rates… will rise from 34 percent to 84 percent”, effective from 12:01 pm on April 10, the Chinese finance ministry said in a statement. The move comes after Beijig earlier vowed to take “firm and forceful” steps to protect its interests, after US’ “reciprocal” tariffs took effect on April 9. Beijing called on the US to stop its “arrogant and bullying behaviour” after Donald Trump’s 104% duties on Chinese imports kicked in. Despite China standing its ground, Trump claimed it “wants to make a deal, badly, but they don’t know how to get it started.” He also told Republicans during a dinner on April 8 that countries were “dying” to make a deal and “calling us up, kissing my ass.” n18oc_world n18oc_crux0:00 INTRODUCTION“COUNTRIES CALLING US UP KISSING MY A**…”RUSSIA SLAMS TRUMP’S DISREGARD FOR INTERNATIONAL TRADE LAWCHINA PLANS HIGH-LEVEL MEETING TO ‘TARIFF-PROOF’ ITS ECONOMY
