Holi, the festival of colours, was observed on March 14 this year. For many people, this joyful festival was incomplete without the flavourful dishes. In case you are still in the festive mood and are craving for some delicious snack, then this chaat recipe will please your stomach.

Influencer Parul Gupta shared a 5-minute recipe on her social media handle, which is easy to make and delightful to eat. Let’s find out.

Take a look at the recipe video here.

Ingredients

  • Papdi
  • Dahi
  • Chopped onions
  • Cooked potatoes
  • Red chilli powder
  • Green chutney
  • Sev
  • Boondi
  • Tamarind chutney
  • Chopped coriander leaves
  • Pomegranates

Method

This recipe works best in a straight-form transparent glass for display.

Step 1: Using a spoon, roughly crush the papdi at the bottom of the chaat glass to begin.

Step 2: Whisk the dahi separately with a little salt to remove the lumps and achieve a slightly thicker texture. Spread this out in layers and put some chopped onions.

Step 3: Make this as spicy as you wish by hand mashing the peeled, boiled potatoes with red chilli powder. We want our chaat to withstand the rising temperatures, so don’t add salt to the boiling potatoes, lest they begin to lose water and become sour!

Step 4: Put a generous portion of green chutney and as much sev as you wish. Spoon over the sev after separately pouring some tamarind chutney over the boondi till the beads are fully covered.

Step 5: Add some pomegranate and coriander leaves as a garnish, and your guests will love it!
