PM Modi’s comments come at a time when thousands of women took to the streets of the country, demanding justice for the brutal rape-murder of 31-year-old Kolkata doctor.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday stated that the security of women in India is of utmost importance and he has told state governments repeatedly that “crime against women is an unpardonable sin”.
While speaking at the Lakhpati Didi Sammelan in Maharashtra’s Jalgaon, PM Modi said: “Along with increasing the strength of mothers, sisters and daughters, their safety is also the priority of the country. I have raised this issue repeatedly from the Red Fort. Today, be it any state of the country, I understand the pain and anger of my sisters and daughters. I will once again tell every political party of the country, every state government that crime against women is an unpardonable sin.”

The PM added that the guilty should be spared, nor should anyone who assists them in any way. Whether it’s in a hospital, school, government, or police system, negligence at any level must be addressed, and everyone involved should be held accountable. A clear message must be sent from the top down that this offense is unforgivable.
PM Modi’s comments came at a time when thousands of women took to the streets across the country, demanding justice for the brutal rape and murder of a 31-year-old doctor in Kolkata.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday interacted with ‘Lakhpati Didis’ – women members of self-help groups who are earning Rs 1 lakh annually – in Maharashtra’s Jalgaon.
The PM was attending an event to felicitate 11 lakh new Lakhpati Didis who achieved the mark during the third term of his government.

“Today, such a large number of sisters and daughters of the country are here. I want to tell you this in particular. Earlier there used to be complaints that FIRs were not registered on time, there was no hearing, cases were delayed. We have removed many such obstacles in the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. A whole chapter has been created in it regarding atrocities against women and children. If the victim women do not want to go to the police station, then they can register an e-FIR from home,” added the Prime Minister.
PM Modi On Women Leading From Front
While addressing the Lakhpati Didi Sammelan in Jalgaon, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said: “You must have heard that India is going to become the third-largest economy in the world. Women play a huge role in it. However, it wasn’t the case a couple of years ago. Women guarantee the prosperity of every home and every family. However, there was no one to guarantee help for the women. Women didn’t have property in their name, and if they had to take a loan from a bank, they could not avail it.”
“In such a situation, they were not able to build their own small business. We took decisions in the interest of women year after year. Earlier, crores of sisters in the country did not have any property in their name. If they had to take a loan from the bank, they could not get it. In such a situation, even if they wanted to do any small work, they were not able to do it. That is why this brother of yours, your son, took a vow. I decided that no matter what happens, I will reduce every difficulty faced by the mothers, sisters and daughters of my country. Therefore, the Modi government took decisions one after another in the interest of women,” the Prime Minister added.
