India challenger D Gukesh looks to grab the advantage against Chinese champion Ding Liren at the ongoing World Chess Championship 2024 Final.
At the end of five games, the finalists stand tied on the scoreboard with nothing to separate them at 2.5 points each.

How Will The Title Be Decided?
For a player to be crowned the champion, one would need a total of 7.5 games from the total of 14 games. A win results in one point, a draw grants 0.5 and a loss is 0 points respectively. If the match ends in a tie after all 14 games, a tiebreak will be held the following day to determine the winner.
This year’s tournament marks the first time in 138 years that two Asian players will be pitted against each other in the high-profile encounter, with a promise of of USD 2.5 million going to the victor.
