Darkwood death, Coffs Harbour: Woman, 35, charged after man’s body was found in a surfboard bag on the driveway of a rural property

A woman has been charged after a man’s body was found on the driveaway of a rural property.

Emergency services were called to a property in Darkwood – about 67km west of Coffs Harbour – around 7pm on Thursday following reports a body had been found.

Officers from Coffs/Clarence Police District attended and found the body of a 62-year-old man in a surfboard bag on the driveway of the property.

A crime scene was established, and officers attached to Coffs/Clarence Police District – with assistance of officers from State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad – established Strike Force Nome to investigate the death.

Police arrested Lisa Marie Cummings 35, of Nambucca Heads on Loftus Street, Nambucca Heads yesterday at about 2.10pm yesterday.

She was taken to Macksville Police Station where she was charged with murder (domestic violence). 

Police will be alleging in court the woman and man were known to each other.

Cummings appeared in Port Macquarie Local Court before a registrar on Saturday. She did not apply for bail, which was formally refused.

She will reappear in court on Monday.
