David Pearce found guilty of murdering two models who died after cocaine party at his Beverly Hills home

Disgraced Hollywood producer David Pearce has been found guilty of the murder of friends Christy Giles and Hilda Cabrales-Arzola during a drug-fuelled party at his Beverly Hills home.

Giles, a 24-year-old model and aspiring actress, and 26-year-old Cabrales-Arzola, a Mexican-born architect, overdosed on a cocktail of drugs before their lifeless bodies were dumped outside two Los Angeles hospitals on November 14, 2021.

Murderer Pearce bragged that ‘dead girls don’t talk’ in the pitiful hours after the women died at his mansion.

The jury, comprised of seven men and five women, reached the verdict on Tuesday, which was read out at the Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center – which previously hosted the trials of OJ Simpson, Harvey Weinstein and Danny Masterson.

Pearce was found guilty of the first degree murder of Giles and Cabrales-Arzola. He was also found guilty of forcible rape of Jane Doe 1, Jane Doe 2, and Jane Doe 3.

The movie mogul was found guilty of forcible penetration of Jane Doe 4, of rape of an unconscious person relating to Jane Doe 5, of forcible rape of Jane Doe 6, and of rape of Jane Doe 7.

Pearce, wearing a grey suit, was emotionless and looked down at his notes as the verdict was announced.

Both Giles and Cabrales-Arzola had fentanyl, ketamine, cocaine, heroin, MDMA and the rape drug GHB in their systems when they were dumped at the hospitals by three masked men, surveillance footage revealed.

Giles died the same day she was dropped off at the hospital of multiple drug intoxication.

Cabrales-Arzola died on November 24 of multiple organ failure and multiple drug intoxication.

The court previously heard that it was Pearce who supplied the cocaine, fentanyl and GHB to both women.

He waited 11 hours to take the women to the hospital, and told his cinematographer friend Michael Ansbach that ‘dead girls don’t talk’, during that time.

Pearce, 43, and Ansback, 50, were arrested on December 15. Brandt Osborn, an actor who was also with them, was arrested the same day while shooting a scene for NCIS.

A grand jury charged Pearce with murder in connection to their murders in December 2022.

He was also charged with three counts of forcible rape, two counts of sexual penetration by use of force, one count each of rape of an unconscious person and sodomy by use of force.

Christy’s parents, Dusty Chiles, 53 and Leslie Chiles, 57, were in court on verdict day. Dusty wore a t-shirt with a picture of Christy on the front.

The victim’s mother Dusty told DailyMail.com before the verdict on Tuesday: ‘It’s been really hard not to stand up in court and defend my daughter – but also Hilda and all the other Jane Does because I’m a mother of one of the victims and he can’t deny it.

‘It is not a he said, she said. He cannot deny this one away. I feel like I’m carrying the weight of all the victims.

‘He is a very manipulating, precisely planned spider that spins a web and catches his victims in the web. He likes to pull all the strings and he gets angry when he cannot be in charge.

‘It’s been three years without my daughter. And David Pearce has pulled every defensive block move to try to keep from going to trial so that people would forget, witnesses would get scared and he could intimidate the Jane Does.

‘For three years he’s been pulling the chains of the justice system, hiring and firing attorneys to delay things.’

Chiles’ gave a stern message to Pearce: ‘Who made you god? Who made you feel like you have the right to take women and drug them to the point of passing out without any medical background.

‘And then decide to let them sit for 10 hours at your apartment so they’d be nice and cold when you drop them off at the hospital and there’s no choice because “dead girls don’t talk.”

‘If you have to lie to women and drug them and intoxicate them so you are a one stop shop and you get them to the point where they can’t fight you off, you’re pitiful.

‘And my daughter was dead for a while. DNA evidence was found on parts of her body that he must have put there when she was dying or she was already dead.

‘He has some kind of fetish for having sex with comatose or dead people. He likes them to be incapacitated so he can do whatever he wants.’

Hilda Cabrales-Arzola’s lifeless body was found after the night with Pearce

The group of girl friends had met Pearce and Osborn hours earlier at a rave in LA and went home with them to Pearce’s Beverly Hills apartment.

The group arrived at 5.11am and began partying some more with Pearce and Ansbach.

At noon on November 14, Pearce told Osborn, ‘There’s something wrong with Christy.’ he recalled. ‘She didn’t look like she was breathing.’ He said he wanted to call 911 but was talked out of doing so by Pearce.

Osborn said he put a pair of sunglasses under Giles’ nose to test if she was breathing.

He told the court that Giles was ‘cold to the touch, not breathing.’ He said he did not check on Cabrales-Arzola at that point because Pearce told him she was asleep in his bed.

The court heard that Giles was already dead and that Cabrales-Arzola was barely breathing when Pearce and Osborn dumped them off at two separate LA area hospitals.

On returning home, Osborn told the court, ‘The only thing on my mind at that time was Ms. Giles and Ms. Cabrales.

‘I just kept saying to myself, I hope these girls are okay.’

He said Pearce told him, ‘Listen, there’s nothing we can do now. Let me buy you dinner.’

The pair headed to a local Mexican restaurant, El Pollo Loco, then returned home and went to bed while hospital staff fought to save the young girls’ lives.

Osborn said he went to bed at 7am and awoke at 10.30am to the sound of Ansbach violently’ ‘puking’ in the bathroom. He then went to a bank before returning to the apartment and going back to bed.

At 1am LAPD officers were banging on the apartment door and Osborn said he saw Pearce attempting to climb out of his bedroom window.

He admitted he was initially ‘deceptive’ with police about the events of the previous day, omitting to tell detectives that he had driven the women home from the rave in his Hyundai.

Osborn called it a ‘tragic’ and ‘traumatizing’ event and that afterwards ‘all I could think about was the well-being of those girls.’

At one point, while being held in a police cell with Pearce and Ansbach, Osborn referred to the women as ‘f**king junkies.’

Osborn said he came to his harsh opinion after hearing the women talk about taking ketamine and doing ‘a lot of drugs’ at the annual Burning Man festival held in the Nevada desert.

The day after police came to the apartment, Osborn told a friend he was upset about having to clean up the three-bedroom, second-floor space at 8641 Olympic Boulevard after removing the women, the court heard.

Prosecutor Seth Camack asked the actor: ‘Was that because Ms. Giles was cold to the touch and not breathing and soiled the bed?’ Osborn then responded: ‘I guess so.’

The court also heard a cell recording of Pearce telling Osborn, ‘No one died at our place.’ Osborn can be heard responding, ‘Well, Christy did.’

Olsen said he had ‘no knowledge whatsoever’ of what drugs Pearce had given Giles and Arzola.

In addition to the murder charges, Pearce had been previously charged with several counts of sexual assault against a total of seven victims spanning a 13-year period between 2005 and 2021.

In 2014, prosecutors originally declined to pursue sexual assault charges against him, but after the deaths, several women came forward with stories.

Pearce told the court that the Jane Does 1 to 7 making accusations against him had exaggerated their stories.

He denied sexually assaulting any of the women and claimed they had all lied. ‘They wanted to create a narrative,’ he said.

Osborn pleaded not guilty to helping Pearce dump the girls’ bodies.

In closing arguments, prosecutor Catherine Ann Mariano told jurors, ‘This trial has established that David Pearce is a sexual predator.

‘The guy gets off on power and control over vulnerable women through lies and drugs and physical violence.

‘He didn’t care about their boundaries, their privacy. He didn’t care about violating them in the most awful way.’

And of Giles and Cabrales-Arzola, Mariano said Pearce, ‘didn’t want them to live. Defendant Pearce wanted them to die because dead girls don’t talk.’

She stressed that although the two women had done cocaine at the rave and ketamine beforehand, they were still clearly coherent, talking and able to walk when leaving the rave.

Mariano said that it was only once they were back home with Pearce that things turned deadly after he gave them GHB and fentanyl.

‘But for fentanyl Christy would be alive,’ said Mariano. She had been given double the amount needed to put someone out for surgery, the prosecutor noted.

By 11.44am on the fateful day, she said, Osborn knew the two women were in ‘bad shape.’

Mariano said Pearce’s goal was to ‘Control the narrative with lie, after lie, after lie,’ she added.

‘His own statements show he knew he gave the girls fentanyl and GHB.

She also pointed out the demeanor of the defendants at the hospitals when they dropped off the women and didn’t stay to see how they were doing.

They were ‘nonchalant’ with ‘no sense of urgency.’

Although Ansbach was arrested, he was not charged in this case. Osborn was freed on bond while Pearce remains behind bars.
