Virat Kohli devoured chilli paneer during the Ranji Trophy match.
It needs no introduction that Virat Kohli is a big-time foodie. The ace cricketer is quite serious when it comes to food. However, he is a pro when it comes to balancing his indulgence with his healthy lifestyle. Recently, Sanjay Jha, the longtime chef at the Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA), revealed how Virat Kohli asked for the classic chilli paneer during the Ranji Trophy match.
Talking to Indian Express, Sanjay Jha revealed how Virat Kohli once loved chicken chilli. However, he has now switched to chilli paneer. Sanjay said, “When he was young, he used to love chicken chilli, but today, he personally met me after training and requested chilli paneer for lunch. For the past two days, after practice sessions, he had requested kadhi chawal.”
Chilli paneer is a classic Indo-Chinese dish that is known for its flavourful and tangy taste. While it is often served as an appetizer, it also pairs well with rice or naan. Inspired by Kohli, here’s an easy keto chilli paneer recipe.

- 1 tsp chili sauce
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- Spring onion for garnishing

Step 2: Once the oil is hot, add in the paneer cubes. Fry until golden brown. Set aside.
Step 3: In the same pan, sauté minced ginger and garlic for 30 seconds until aromatic.
Step 4: Add the chopped red onions and capsicum. Cook until soft.
Step 5: Add in the vinegar, soy sauce, chilli sauce, and a splash of water. Bring it to a simmer.
