How Did The Jets Collide At The Airport?
The Learjet 35A aircraft had taken off from Austin, Texas and it veered off the runway and crashed into a parked Gulfstream G200 jet, said city spokesperson Kelli Kuester in a news conference on Monday.
“It appears that the left main gear failed upon landing resulting in the accident,” she added.
Confirming the same, the FAA in a statement, “A Learjet 35A veered off the runway after landing and crashed into a Gulfstream 200 business jet on the ramp at Scottsdale Municipal Airport in Arizona around 2:45 p.m. local time Monday, Feb. 10.”
All the flights into the airport were paused by the FAA for some hours after the crash.
