Dec Donnelly was left in tears after he made a rather unfortunate faux pas during I’m A Celeb Unpacked on Friday evening.

Appearing on the show’s spin off segment, host Joel Dommett asked Ant and Dec how this series is different to the first season of the show 20 years ago.

As Ant began explaining how the first major difference is the location, he began: ‘Well it wasn’t here it was up in Northern Australia near Cairns so it was a lot hotter.’

Making the blunder which was accompanied by an unfortunate hand gesture, Dec then added: ‘And it was really thick bush’.

Realising what he had said the presenter burst into hysterics as the whole team struggled to compose themselves after the awkward slip.

Attempting to correct himself, he clarified: ‘Thick jungle, thick jungle,’ while Joel joked: ‘That’s all we have time for.’

Ant continued to tease his co-host and best friend as he continued: ‘Yeah yeah it was thick, thick bush.’

Joined on the sofa by Sam Thompson and Kemi Rodgers, Ant added: ‘I am so sorry Kemi’ as she joked: ‘Don’t worry, it has just reminded me to get a wax when I get home.’

Overcome with embarrassment, a red-faced Dec told cameras ‘I’m so sorry,’ as the pair exited the sofa at the end of their segment.

Jane Moore became the first contestant to be voted off this year’s I’m A Celeb this year and the journalist made sure to take a swipe at her fellow campmates upon her exit, saying: ‘hard work does not get rewarded’.

The Loose Women star, 63, has been embroiled in a row over ‘ageism’ and ‘sexism’ in the jungle after she was tasked with the chore of doing the camp’s washing up.

She accused former boxing champion, Barry McGuigan, and the McFly frontman, Danny Jones, of being ageist and sexist for giving her the role because she was an older woman.

Upon her exit she told Ant and Dec: ‘I had three jobs before then, I worked like a dog and then they gave me the washing up so I wasn’t pleased about that.

‘I did a lot down there but hard work doesn’t pay off as I’m the first one out, people don’t notice hard work’.

Attempting to correct himself, he clarified: ''Thick jungle, thick jungle,' while Joel joked: 'That's all we have time for'

In a warning to the remaining campmates, she said: ‘The more people get voted off, it will get apparent who isn’t doing that much.

‘I would like to see the quiet hard workers win, there’s a lot of showmen in there. I want Coleen [Rooney] or Melvin [Odoom] to win, they’re not flamboyant.’

Speaking about her time in the jungle she said: ‘I have lived it and it’s just such a weird and magical experience. People always say it’s the best experience of your life, wouldn’t say that with the rain. Never been so soaked in my life, constantly’.

‘At least there’s no more washing up, I’m never washing up again. I enjoyed getting to know the other and ask them questions. We’ve all got each other’s back. Them getting to know me was great too, because I’m a journalist they were initially like, “hang on what’s this going to be like?”‘.

‘A lot of them said they talked about things with me they haven’t for years and they felt better for it’.
