In today’s world, many dream of landing a job that pays in lakhs, but a man from Delhi has taken a different path. He left behind a lucrative bank job paying Rs 70 lakh annually to pursue his passion for uniquely serving chhole kulche.

Different Types Of Chhole In 60 Seconds

Sagar Malhotra has created a one-of-a-kind machine to make chhole kulche, and you won’t find anything like it anywhere else in the country. Remarkably, Sagar developed this machine after spending an entire year locked inside his home, working on it.

Sagar faced around 40 failed attempts during the trial phase. Despite these setbacks, he never gave up. Eventually, he succeeded, and the machine began making chhole in just 60 seconds. Inspired by his success, Sagar opened two chhole kulche shops in Delhi and now has plans to expand his business to Jaipur and Bangalore.

Sagar’s Journey To Success

Sagar Malhotra shared that he has worked in various cities across India and abroad, including Mumbai, Bangalore, and Delhi. His last job in a bank offered him a hefty annual package of Rs 70 lakh, but he was not content.

He decided to return to his hometown, Delhi, and start a chhole kulche business with his mother. Initially, he invested money in a company to build the machine, but when he realised the company wasn’t interested in his idea, he took matters into his own hands. With the help of his mother, he spent an entire year creating the automatic machine.

How The Machine Works

Sagar explained that the machine works similarly to a coffee machine. It stores three to four different types of chhole, and when a customer places an order—either online or offline—they can select from buttons corresponding to different types of chhole, such as less spicy, medium spicy, or spicy.

Once the button is pressed, the machine mixes the chhole thoroughly and serves it directly onto the plate in less than a minute.

Customers Love the Convenience

The unique selling point of Sagar’s machine is the speed and hygiene it offers. The chhole reaches the plate in just 60 seconds, giving customers a chance to enjoy their meal quickly without having to wait.

Additionally, since no hands touch the chhole, hygiene is maintained, and there’s no risk of external contamination. This approach has been well-received by customers.

Consistent Taste Every Time

Since the chhole is prepared by the machine, customers can expect the same taste every time they visit. Sagar offers three varieties of chhole and two types of kulcha, with prices starting as low as Rs 49.

Projected Sales Over Rs 70 Lakh

Sagar’s chhole kulche business is growing rapidly, with both online and offline sales picking up. His first shop in Rajouri Garden is bustling, while his second shop in Vikaspuri is also gaining popularity.

Sagar plans to open his third shop in Jaipur and a fourth in Bengaluru. Under the name ‘Chak De Chole’, his brand is now profitable, and he anticipates that annual sales will exceed Rs 70 lakh soon.
