One of the most important projects of infrastructure is the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, which connects Delhi and Mumbai via six major states: Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Maharashtra. The entire project is anticipated to be finished in 2027, while a portion of the Rajasthan Expressway became operational in the last month of 2024. Starting from Delhi’s Maharani Bagh on the Delhi-Noida-Direct (DND) Flyway, the expressway will pass through Dausa, Kota, Ratlam, Vadodara and Surat before coming to an end at the Jawaharlal Nehru Port (JNPT) in Navi Mumbai. Apart from the DND Flyway, Alipur Village, located north of Sohna, is another important entry/exit point on the Delhi end.

By improving the connection between Delhi and Mumbai and connecting important cities like Sohna, Alwar, Ratlam, Mandsaur, Vadodara and Surat, the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway is expected to greatly ease the movement of people and goods. As per Times Now, the development of smart cities in tiers two and three will be significantly influenced by the Delhi-Mumbai expressway route.

This route of the Delhi-Mumbai expressway will reportedly improve connectivity, which stimulates economic activity, draws in investments and promotes urban growth. The expressway influences the course of smart city projects in these areas by serving as a stimulus for all-encompassing development.

Delhi-Mumbai Expressway: What Effect Will It Have on the Real Estate Sector?

Due to the expansion of the commercial and industrial areas along the expressway, previously remote areas will become more accessible for residential development, Times Now reports.

A 99 Acres analysis predicts that the need for affordable housing will increase in tier-2 and tier-3 cities, including Alwar (Rajasthan), Kota (Rajasthan), Ratlam (Madhya Pradesh), Vadodara (Gujarat) and Surat (Gujarat).

There will be a spike in demand for commercial spaces as a result of the expressway drawing firms along its path. There will be a greater need for office space, lodging and retail establishments in the vicinity of important intersections and centres, Times Now states.

Delhi-Mumbai Expressway: Impact on the Economic Growth of India

The Delhi-Mumbai Expressway will also greatly benefit India’s economic growth by promoting speedier transportation of goods and people, lowering logistical costs and fostering trade, according to reports.

Along its corridor, the increased connectivity draws investments, spurs industrial expansion and generates employment possibilities. This infrastructure project will play a vital role in promoting economic growth and advancing the country’s general well-being.
