Chhath Puja is a significant Hindu festival celebrated to worship Lord Surya and Chhathi Maiyaa. During the holy occasion, devotees cook many delicacies, and among them, Singhara Barfi Recipe is one of the delicious recipes savoured by many.

Ingredients

1 cup singhare ka atta (water chestnut flour)

1 cup khoya

1/2 cup sugar

1 cup water

3-4 tablespoons ghee

1/2 teaspoon green cardamom powder

1-2 tablespoon raisins and sliced almonds for garnishing

Step 1: Take a pan and grease it with some ghee on low flame.

Step 2: Add water chestnut flour and sauté on medium heat, till it turns light brown.

Step 3: Once done, turn off the flame and scorch the flour.

Step 4: Take another vessel and sauté the khoya till it becomes light brown and attains a thick consistency.

Step 5: Then, add the flour mixture, sugar, and one and a half cups of water and mix well. Stir until the ghee leaves the sides of the pan.

Step 6: Sprinkle a hint of cardamom powder, some raisins, and almonds on it and mix well.

Step 7: Keep stirring for 1-2 minutes, and your mixture is ready to be transferred.

Step 8: Now, pour the cooked mixture into a greased tray and allow it to cool in room temperature or refrigerate it for 10 mins.

Step 9: Cut the frozen mixture into desired shapes, garnish with almond slices, and serve your freshly prepared barfi.
