Air India Crash Prophecy: The pastor on two occasions can be heard warning people of a “mid-air issue” involving “India’s national carrier”.
Pastor Jerome Fernando on November 26, 2024 first called upon Indians who were present at his event, and gave them a warning.
A video shared by billionaire Harsh Goenka on the Air India plane crash has been going viral on social media. The 1.33-minute clip is of a Sri Lankan evangelical pastor who had ‘predicted’ the deadly accident. The pastor on two occasions can be heard warning people of a “mid-air issue” involving “India’s national carrier”.
According to the video, pastor Jerome Fernando on November 26, 2024 first called upon Indians who were present at his event, and gave them a warning. “I begin to see something…your national carrier was flying within your country…and this was a threat mid-air… you will hear it…this is mid-air issue,” he can be heard saying.
Months later, on April 24, 2025 — just 49 days before the incident — Fernando warned flyers again: “Avoid red air craft body because this is mid in the air…”
In Sri Lanka, a priest Fr Jerome warned about the Air India disaster repeatedly in the last few months. Unbelievable, isn’t it? pic.twitter.com/2O3090SMLZ— Harsh Goenka (@hvgoenka) June 14, 2025
Sharing Fernando’s prophecy from his X handle, Harsh Goenka wrote: “Unbelievable, isn’t it?” The video so far has received over three lakh views.
Internet users were quick to pour varied reactions. An X user, Dr Nilima Srivastava, claimed that Jerome Fernando is “factually incorrect” as he said “mid-air crash”.
“The crash happened at takeoff. Red Body was easy to predict given the number of technical glitches Air India has faced ever since this Wilson fellow became CEO. Air India fined ₹10 lakh for ‘not complying with rules’ in August 2024. In February 2025, Aviation safety regulator DGCA fined Tata Group-owned Air India Rs 30 lakh for allowing a pilot to operate a flight without meeting necessary regulatory requirements.”

Another user, @hemant_architec, took a sarcastic dig: “Airline companies should hire him to predict so they change colour or route and so on.”
Who Is Jerome Fernando?
Pastor Jerome Fernando heads the Glorious Church in Sri Lanka. According to UCA News, he considers himself a prophet of God and enjoys a big following among Sri Lankan celebrities including cricketers.
Fernando was apprehended by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on December 1 last year for stating that the Buddha had been “looking for Jesus,” prompting criticism in the predominantly Buddhist country.
In a sermon, Fernando asserted that every Buddhist needs Jesus, arguing that Buddha was searching for enlightenment and therefore seeking Jesus.
He further mentioned that Muslims are unable to refer to Allah as their Father and questioned the Hindu practice of venerating animals. “Why do they worship a God that resembles an elephant? Why do they venerate cows?” the pastor asked during his sermon. Fernando’s critics accused him of insulting Buddhism, Islam, and Hinduism.
