Diljit Dosanjh attended the 2025 Met Gala celebrating Superfine: Tailoring Black Style at Metropolitan Museum of Art on May 05, 2025 in New York City.
Diljit Dosanjh made his debut on the MET Gala carpet looking sharp in a Prabal Gurung creation. Keeping up with this signature line ‘Punjabi Aa Gaye Oye’, Diljit immersed himself fully into the MET Gala festivities in a traditional Indian attire.
Exuding desi dandyism, the ensemble saw Diljit adorn an ivory sherwani paired with an embroidered cape. Celebrating his Punjabi roots in his first ever MET Gala appearance, Diljit made a royal statement on the MET Gala carpet.
Styled by Abhilasha Devnani, the ensemble was further enhanced with layered jewellery pieces accentuated with rubies and emeralds. Celebrating fashion’s biggest night on the iconic MET stairs Diljit’s blue carpet look featured his bejewelled turban and a talwar (sword).
Deep rooted in Indian history with a modern allure, Prabal Gurung celebrated Diljit’s roots with his design aesthetics. Together they created magic on the MET Gala carpet. Every custom piece envisioned for Diljit highlighted his tradition and roots with elan. From the jewellery to the tailored ensemble, everything celebrated Diljit’s debut appearance and the global music icon made it a moment that will go down in history.
Each year the dress code takes inspiration from the exhibition theme and references ideas explored in the show. The dress code for the evening was Tailored for You, which was a nod to the Superfine: Tailoring Black Style exhibition’s focus on suiting and menswear. The MET Gala 2025 saw an array of celebrities from the film, music, sports and business grace the blue carpet in their stunning tailored looks.
