Billionaire tech mogul Elon Musk said that his social media platform X was hit by a “massive cyberattack” and claimed that the attack was traced back to Ukraine.
The platform experienced multiple outages throughout the day on Monday, repeatedly going offline, recovering briefly, and crashing again. Some users faced problems in loading X posts, while others reported difficulty in accessing in-app services.
“We’re not sure exactly what happened, but there was a massive cyberattack to try to bring down the X system with IP addresses originating in the Ukraine area,” Musk said in an interview with Fox Business Channel.
Earlier on Monday, Musk confirmed a “massive cyberattack” targeted X, prompting outages for thousands of users, who claimed that the platform suffered crashes multiple times.
“We get attacked every day, but this was done with a lot of resources. Either a large, coordinated group and/or a country is involved. Tracing…” Musk wrote on X.
