Donald Trump said that Elon Musk has been criticizing his proposed tax bill because the Tesla CEO is “upset”.

Elon Musk asserted that without his involvement Donald Trump would have lost the 2024 election. The tech boss claimed that, in such a scenario, Democrats would control the House of Representatives, and Republicans would hold a narrow 51-49 majority in the Senate.
The remarks comes after US President Donald Trump said that Elon Musk has been criticizing his proposed tax bill because the Tesla CEO is “upset” about the elimination of EV credits in the package. The US President also said that the billionaire is upset after his pick to run NASA was nixed by the Donald Trump administration.
Donald Trump said, “You know, I’ve always liked Elon. I’d rather have him criticize me than the bill, because the bill is incredible.”
He added, “Elon is upset because we took the EV mandate, and you know, which was a lot of money for electric vehicles. And you know, they’re having a hard time, the electric vehicles, and they want us to pay billions of dollars in subsidy.”
Referring to the elimination of the tax credits in the bill for electric vehicles, Donald Trump said, “Elon knew this from the beginning. He knew it … a long time ago.”
Elon Musk wrote “whatever” on X following Donald Trump’s remarks as he said, “Keep the EV/solar incentive cuts in the bill, even though no oil & gas subsidies are touched (very unfair!!), but ditch the MOUNTAIN of DISGUSTING PORK in the bill.”
