Erling Haaland has now equalled the likes of Thierry Henry, Michael Owen and Harry Kane in a unique goal-scoring record in the Premier League.
Manchester City striker, Erling Haaland looks all set to win yet another Golden Boot in the Premier League. The striker has already amassed a total of seven goals in the three games he was part of in the domestic season.
The Norwegian international only made his move to the Manchester club back in 2022, but his immense goal-scoring habits have ensured that he is amongst some legendary names in the Premier League.
Most Hat-tricks in the Premier League | ||
Player Name | Games | Hat-tricks |
Sergio Aguero | 275 | 12 |
Alan Shearer | 441 | 11 |
Robbie Fowler | 379 | 9 |
Erling Haaland | 69 | 8 |
Thierry Henry | 258 | 8 |
Harry Kane | 320 | 8 |
Michael Owen | 326 | 8 |
Haaland has already scored as many as eight hat-tricks in the Premier League. His first was up against the London-based club, Crystal Palace in 2022. This was followed by Nottingham Forest in his very next game. His third was when he scored against arch-rivals Manchester United where he scored a hat-trick along with his team-mate Phil Foden. Wolverhampton Wanderers were his last victim in 2023.

Haaland made it back-to-back hat-tricks after he scored three goals against the likes of Ipswich Town followed by West Ham United yesterday. His hat-trick against the Hammers has now pushed him up to fourth in the list of Premier League players with the most hat-tricks.
The interesting aspect of the statistic is the number of games Haaland has in comparison to the legendary names on the list. At this rate, it would not come as a surprise if he can get even closer to the top of the list, held by fellow City legend, Sergio Aguero who is on 12 hat-tricks in 275 games before the Norwegian hits 100 games in the English top-flight.

Manchester City have won all three of their games in the Premier League. Haaland has a good shot at scoring another treble as they face Brentford at home. He could find it difficult later on considering that City’s cup competition fixtures also begin and could result in him missing certain fixtures as part of workload management.
One thing is for certain, should Haaland stay in the Premier League for an extended period, it is almost certain that he would be top of the list.
