Ex-NFL quarterback Cam Newton reveals bizarre reason he went to strip clubs: ‘Not for women’

Former NFL quarterback Cam Newton has been brutally mocked by fans online over the reason he used to go to strip clubs – and it wasn’t for the women.

Newton, who spent the majority of his 11-year career with the Carolina Panthers, was discussing the stripping industry with two dancers on his Funky Friday podcast when he made the bizarre admission.

While it’s no longer the case amid his relationship with girlfriend Jasmin Brown, the 35-year-old admitted he used to visit strip clubs frequently during his playing days.

But only to outspend other men.

‘I never went to a strip club for women. I always went to strip clubs for guys,’ Newton revealed on the podcast.

‘I’m a competitor. I wasn’t gonna spend no money if I didn’t see nobody else spending no money. As soon as I see somebody thinking that they’ve got money… “Ok you spending five? Imma spend six. If you gonna spend 10, Imma spend 15.” We’re gonna have a rain off.

‘So that’s my whole thing, I don’t go to strip clubs for chicks. I was a competitor and still am a competitor to think like, “N**** you think you’ve got it, but you don’t got it. That 15 you making, Imma spend my 15 and Imma make it back easy.”‘

Fans were left baffled by Newton’s desire to compete with other men financially at strip clubs, with a number of users expressing confusion on social media.

‘Um you do you my guy,’ said one on X.

Another simply asked: ‘What bro??’

‘His logic ain’t logicing,’ posted a third.

‘Man there’s so many things wrong with this thought process bro!! Smh lol NO Mr. Newton, we don’t get what you’re saying sir,’ wrote a fourth.

While one merely put: ‘Should have kept this to himself.’
