Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, said on Monday that Iran is a strong and historically rich nation, with a cultural and civilisational heritage far surpassing that of countries like the United States, adding that it will never surrender to any foreign powers.

“The Iranian nation is a great nation; #Iran is a strong and vast country; Iran possesses an #ancient_civilization; our cultural and civilizational wealth is hundreds of times greater than that of America and the like,” he said.

“The expectation that Iran would #surrender to another country is one of those absurd statements that will undoubtedly provoke the ridicule of wise individuals,” added Khamenei.

His remark comes two days after Donald Trump slammed Khamenei over his claim that Iran won its recent 12-day war with Israel. The American president also warned that US would “absolutely” bomb the country again if Tehran pursued nuclear weapons, Al Jazeera reported.

In a post on his Truth Social platform on Friday, Trump accused Khamenei of “blatantly and foolishly” lying by claiming victory in the war and said he had personally prevented Khamenei’s assassination.

“His Country was decimated, his three evil Nuclear Sites were OBLITERATED, and I knew EXACTLY where he was sheltered, and would not let Israel, or the U.S. Armed Forces, by far the Greatest and Most Powerful in the World, terminate his life,” Trump said.
