Bushfire in Victoria now the ‘size of Singapore’

A colossal bushfire in Victoria is now the size of Singapore, as crews battle tireleslly to protect homes.

The out-of-control blaze is tearing through the state’s Grampain National Park and has now burned over 74,000 hectares of bushland.

Luke Heagerty, from the State Control Centre, said over 600 firefighters had sacrificed their Christmases to fight the flames.

He said the fire has grown 12 times its original size in the last week.

‘So, the magnitude of that, it is somewhere around the size of Singapore,’ Me Heagerty told the ABC.

Incredibly, no homes have yet been lost.
