Liverpool boss Arne Slot reiterated that it was too early to call the Premier League title a foregone conclusion despite the position of advantage the Reds find themselves in at the top of the table.

The Merseyside team extended their lead at the top to seven points ahead of chasing Chelsea, with a game in hand over the Londoners to boot, with their 3-1 triumph over Leicester City on Friday.

However, Slot put the breaks on talks of the title citing the number of games yet to be played and the facto of uncertainty that could take a toll on even the top sides.

“If you are in this game for a long time like the players and I am, then 20 games before the end you don’t look at it as there are so many challenges ahead of you,” Slot began.

he said after goals from  helped turn the tide following Jordan Ayew’s early strike for Leicester.

Despite being pleased with the top spot in the table, the Dutchman opined that it was too early to pop open the bottle of bubbly.

“Injuries and a bit of bad luck can happen to any team, it is far too early to be already celebrating –- but it is nice for us to be where we are,” the 46-year-old added.

Liverpool rallied from a goal down against Leicester as strikes from Cody Gakpo, Curtis Jones and Mohamed Salah gave the Reds yet another win to take their season’s tally record to 42 points from 17 games.

Slot’s men hammered Tottenham in their previous PL outing as they hit six past Ange Postecoglou’s men while conceding three.

“I don’t think there was any easy win for us in any of these games; it could have been an easy win against Tottenham but we conceded. That tells you how difficult it is to win even when you have all your players available,” the Dutchman added.

“That is why we have to take it one game at a time,” he explained.

“The league table is something of course we are aware of but we always understand how many games there are to go,” Slot concluded.
