A food critic came across the worst KFC in America while he was at one of the busiest airports in the US.
Farley Elliott, SFGate’s Southern California Bureau Chief, supported a negative review from the outlet Fast Company after he visited KFC in Terminal B’s dining terrace at LAX this month.
‘I hardly ever recommend LAX to anyone; there’s no way on earth I would ever recommend this KFC to another person,’ Elliott wrote for SFGate.
He agreed with every negative comment Fast Company made about the restaurant and sympathized with the location’s previous customers.
Fast Company released its LAX KFC ranking less than a week after the restaurant chain closed dozens of locations in the Midwest.
KFC inside the Bradley International Terminal at LAX is considered to be the worst KFC in America
Farley Elliott, a food critic and SFGate’s Southern California Bureau Chief, revealed his KFC meal at LAX was the worst meal he ever had at an airport
Elliott visited the LAX KFC inside the Bradley International Terminal after his boss requested him to look into the claims.
However, the food critic was already not a fan of airport restaurants before the request.
‘Restaurants are often bad simply because they’re in an airport,’ Elliott wrote.
‘Fried food and alcohol can make any pre-flight meal semi-palatable, but even then, expectations are low.’
Once he arrived, he was immediately stunned after he spotted the long line of travelers waiting to purchase KFC at 10 am.
He got in line and slowly prepared to order what he called ‘one of the worst meals’ he’d ever had at an airport.

While Elliott waited in line, he witnessed the restaurant’s chaotic operations.
The Bureau Chief claimed the KFC location’s ticket printer was not working, which led to an even more stressful experience as a customer.
There was also only one employee at the register during the entire time Elliott was there.
The restaurant’s digital kiosk also didn’t make Elliott’s experience better; employees needed to assist customers with their electronic orders due to ingredient and item shortages.
‘The cybernated setup couldn’t warn customers of sold-out dishes, either, so you just kind of had to … hope … that they hadn’t run out of corn yet,’ Elliott wrote.
Elliott was finally able to place his Double Crunch fried chicken sandwich two-piece meal order 30 minutes after arriving at KFC, and after spending $15, he found out his meal didn’t include a beverage.
He walked over to a wobbly table and tasted his hardened chicken tenders and ‘lukewarm mashed potatoes’ with barely any sauce.
Elliott gave a one-star rating to a biscuit, and overall, he believed his experience was nothing but a nightmare.

Fast Company did not hold back in its August 22nd KFC ranking release.
The scores were calculated based on a scoring system they created, which factored in an average customer review score and written reviews earlier this year.
Its weighted score was dreadful compared to the best KFC restaurant in America after only getting a -8.60.
A Fast Company representative called the employees ‘very rude people’ and criticized its overpriced and limited menu.
‘Eating there made me feel sad. I feel sorry for anyone that has to suffer this place,’ a Google reviewer wrote.
Other KFC LAX customers were just as harsh with their reviews on Google, and it currently holds a 1.5-star rating based on more than 300 reviews.
‘Should have listened to the other reviews. This is one of the absolute worst restaurants I been to. I love KFC as well,’ a Google reviewer wrote this week.
Another customer wrote: ‘If I could give no stars I would. The worst KFC service I’ve EVER had.’
