Tao and Xu Yiyang got engaged in August of this year, just a month after the couple officially announced their relationship on social media.
Former EXO member Huang Zitao, best known as Tao, is finally married to his longtime girlfriend Xu Yiyang, who was also a trainer under SM Entertainment. Through a post via Weibo, the K-pop Idol revealed their marriage on Monday, December 2, sharing several pictures of himself with his now-wife. The post shows the couple holding their Chinese marriage certificate and pictures of their marriage registration. With the caption “Goal is achieved,” the post also shows the newlyweds posing for a selfie as they flaunt their certificates towards the camera.
While the news already created a buzz among the K-community with fans taking to Weibo and congratulating the couple, the wedding pictures have also made their way to other social media platforms including X, leaving fans surprised.
One of them wrote, “WAIIT! TAO GOT MARRIED? omg congratulations uri panda, I’m so happy for you.”
It is worth mentioning that the K-pop idols officially announced their relationship in July this year with a series of heartwarming couple pictures on Weibo. They also shared romantic videos, which left fans swooning. Later in August, the former EXO member proposed to Xu Yiyang on the variety show ‘Dare Or Not’ in a dreamy setup.
In an emotional moment, Tao expressed his feelings for Yiyang on the show and said, “You are the one who will be with me until the end. My entire life, this lifetime, every day, every moment, every night, I want that person to be you. So, this is my last challenge on the show. I dare to marry you, do you dare to accept?”
Accepting the proposal in response, Yiyang said, “I dare.”

Speaking of their relationship, both Tao and Xu Yiyang have been closely associated for a long time. While Tao was a member of SM entertainment group EXO, Yiyang was also a former trainee with SM Rookies. In 2016, she was even introduced alongside aespa’s Ningning following which she debuted in China in 2019 as part of Legal High.
After Tao’s exit from EXO, Yiyang also joined his company L. Tao Entertainment.
