Adana Demirspor chairman Bedirhan Durak announced his resignation on Monday, a day after the Turkish SuperLig club walked off the pitch in protest during their clash against Galatasaray. At the same time, Fenerbahce also accused The Lions of corrupting Turkish football with their influence.
“I now sadly see that we have reached a deadlock. For the sake of my club, my family, my loved ones, and my health, I hereby announce my resignation from the presidency,” Durak said in a statement.
The resignation follows Adana Demirspor’s decision to walk off the pitch 30 minutes into their Super Lig match at Galatasaray on Saturday night as they trailed 1-0 to a penalty. The game was later abandoned.

Galatasaray coach Okan Buruk said in an interview after the visitors had walked off the field that the penalty could have been an incorrect decision.
But, Galatasaray rivals Fenerbahce took their shot at their rivals, calling them out publicly for corrupting the league and Turkish football as a whole, on X.

“With your irregular contracts, black market tickets and illegal betting advertisements, you are harming our State and the Turkish Football Federation,” Fenerbahce wrote on their official X handle.
“Your guided media members and your insincere statements are deceiving the public, Continue to mislead referees and football fans with your football players who have been making deceptive moves for years!”
“Thanks to you, there is neither trust nor justice left! But the most innocent and victimized one is always you! Congratulations, what have you done to Turkish football?”
