An investigation has been sparked after shocked bus passengers allegedly overhead a group of boys discussing ‘disturbing’ plans to rape girls and women.Â
A commuter claimed the students from Shenton College in the inner-west Perth suburb of Shenton Park, were loudly discussing assaulting female students and teachers as well as strangers while passing around photos last week.Â
They said it was not the first time the same group of schoolboys had behaved poorly on the bus and that their behaviour was growing more brazen.
In a vent to social media, the witness said the boys had been passing around a picture of a girl – who one boy said was his sister – and talking loudly about plans to assault her.Â
‘Please speak with your kids about this disgusting conduct and educate them on consent and sexual misconduct,’ they said.
‘This is unacceptable and dangerous behaviour and if they were my children I would be horrified at the things they are saying. I have reported this to the school.’
The WA Public Transport Authority said it was working with Shenton College and other authorities to look into the matter, WA Today reports. Â
The group of boys have reportedly been identified after the school questioned those who caught the bus service and obtained CCTV footage.

Department of Education North Metropolitan Region regional director Cheryl Townsend told WA Today the boys’ conduct was unacceptable.Â
‘(It is) disappointing to hear accounts of inappropriate behaviour by young people after they leave school for the day,’ she said.Â
A study from Monash University found that young boys were being influenced by the ‘toxic masculinity’ promoted by self-proclaimed misogynists like Andrew Tate.Â
Researchers interviewed 30 women teachers in both private and public primary and secondary schools, and found they experienced a significant increase in sexual harassment, sexism, and misogyny from boys.Â
Tate – currently charged with rape and human trafficking in Romania – was banned from Twitter, now X, in 2017 for tweeting that rape victims ‘bear some responsibility’ for ‘putting themselves in that position’.
Daily Mail Australia has contacted Shenton College and the WA Education Department for comment.Â
