Garmin, the US-based wearable brand, has expanded its smartwatch lineup in India with the launch of the premium Fenix 8 series of multisport GPS smartwatches. Available in both AMOLED and solar-charging versions, the series features multiple display sizes and is already on sale in India. Alongside the new watches, Garmin has also introduced a personalised application designed for fitness instructors and athletes.

Garmin Fenix 8 Features

The Fenix 8 series has a rugged, dive-rated design with leakproof buttons and metal sensor protection. It features a 1.4-inch AMOLED display, a scratch-resistant lens and a titanium bezel. Also, it meets US military standards for thermal, stress and water resistance, making it ideal for outdoor activities.

The AMOLED model offers an impressive battery life of up to 29 days in smartwatch mode, while the solar variant can extend its life up to 48 days. In terms of connectivity, the device enables users to make phone calls and control functions using off-grid voice commands. It also supports voice commands for responding to texts and performing various other tasks.

Additional features include strength training plans, sport-specific workouts to enhance athletic performance, a customizable morning report for health insights, and a training readiness feature that evaluates sleep quality and recovery metrics. The Fenix 8 provides deeper insight into overall fitness levels by including advanced measures such as endurance and hill scores, as well as VO2 max and training status.

Furthermore, it supports a wide range of physical activities, including HIIT workouts, skiing, cross-country skiing, snowboarding, kiteboarding, recreational diving, and animated workouts for yoga, cardio, strength training, and Pilates.

Navigation features encompass multi-continent topographical maps, turn-by-turn directions, SATIQ technology for precise GPS, and utilities such as a barometer, compass, altimeter, NextFork Map Guide, and Up Ahead for improved route tracking.

But the features don’t end there; the Fenix 8 series also includes smart notifications, music control, Garmin Pay for easy payments, and safety tracking.
