Georgetown University graduate student revealed as daughter of top Hamas adviser

A graduate student at Georgetown University has been unmasked as the daughter of a top Hamas adviser – with ties to the terrorist organization herself.

Mapheze Saleh is a first-year master of arts student in Arab Studies at Georgetown University’s Center for Contemporary Arab Studies, according to the program’s website.

An investigation revealed that Saleh is the daughter Ahmed Yousef, who served as an adviser for the terrorist organization Hamas under Ismail Haniyeh’s leadership, according to the Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting and Analysis (CAMERA).

According to her Georgetown biography, Saleh has worked for government agencies of the Hamas regime herself.

‘She has worked with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Gaza, which provided her with a greater understanding of regional security, particularly in relation to Palestine,’ the website states.

Hamas, which was designated a Foreign Terrorist Organization by the U.S State Department in 1997, has been the de facto governing body of the Gaza Strip since 2007.

The terrorist group is committed to armed resistance against Israel and launched the October 7, 2023, attack that killed nearly 1,200 people.

Saleh’s father is a senior Hamas adviser, and has been quoted in news coverage of the Israel-Hamas war.

Yousef was quoted a New York Times article published on May 12 about Hamas’ goals.

‘Hamas’s strategy is to stop the war right now,’ he said. ‘To stop the genocide and the killing of the Palestinian people.’

He also served as the director of the U.S.-based Islamic think tank the United Association for Studies and Research (UASR), according The Wall Street Journal.

UASR, which has long been considered a front for the terrorist group, is the brainchild of Musa Abu Marzook, a senior Hamas operative based in Doha, Qatar, who is now the organization’s second in command.

Yousef led UASR until 2005 when he returned to Gaza to become senior adviser to Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh.

In social media posts archived by CAMERA and published in the National Review, Saleh reportedly expressed support for the October 7 terror attack, shared video of Israeli hostages being dragged in front of crowds and showed distain for the United States.

Her biography also states that she worked for the Qatar Embassy in New Delhi and written for the Middle East Monitor, Al Jazeera, and various Palestinian media outlets.

The revelation of Georgetown student with Hamas ties comes as the university is probing a student event that was set to be headlined by a convicted terrorist.

The group Georgetown Law Students For Justice in Palestine had planned to host an event with Ribhi Karajah, a terror group member who was convicted for his role in the killing of a 17-year-old Israeli girl, reported Fox News.

Flyers on campus stated, ‘Palestinian Prisoners, an evening with Ribhi Karajah, student activist and former political prisoner.’

Karajah is a U.S. citizen who was arrested along with two members of the designated terror group the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine for the 2019 killing.

He was convicted and spent over three years in prison for an August 2019 roadside bombing that killed a young Israeli named Rina Shnerb and seriously injured her father and brother.

President Donald Trump has a launched a crackdown on anti-Semitism on college campuses and ordered the deportation of pro-Hamas students.

He signed a January 30 executive order to cancel the student visas of anyone who had shown support for the Palestinian terror group.
